Sangai International University Manipur (SIUM); Manipur is a fully government recognized State Self Finance private University, comes under section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 and is empowered to award degrees specified in section 22 of UGC Act,1956.

Apart from it, the University is empowered to grant Diplomas, Certificates, Pre University Certificates (Secondary and Senior Secondary Level) and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the Sangai International University Manipur Act, 2014 (Manipur Act No. 6 of 2015), Statutes and Regulations notified by State Government in the Official Gazette.The headquarter of University is located at Churach­andpur, Manipur. The Sangai International University Manipur strives for inclusive access to excellence in higher education and research to emerge as premier University of the country with the best Universities of the World in terms of programme offerings, curricular framework, pedagogy, research, publications and integration with the world of work. The Sangai International University Manipur Act 2014 provides that the University is to have Schools of Studies which shall consist of  Faculties, Department and Centres of Studies. The University has Community College Scheme as it is a very effective and an efficient methodology of educating people with the help of real time working environment. The Community College will focus on skill development programs with in-hand training to ensure employ ability of outgoing students in tune with the current policy of the government of India to provide proper training for employ ability of the youth The end objective of the program will be to ensure for employ ability to the students. The Community College is all about realizing the potentials of an individual and then adding wings to them to fly high to their pinnacles.' n accordance with the National Voca- tional Education Qualifications Framework (NVEQF) notified by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Govt. of India), New Delhi vide notification no F. No. - 1-4/2011- VE dated 3rd September 2012, the University recognized the need and importance of facilitating the mobility of students from vocational educational institutions, universities, colleges to the SIUM as they pursue their educational goals.The University will accept already earned credits by the candidates after recognition and establishing equivalence of such credits with each of the aforesaid bodies on individual basis.The SIUM is committed to Equal Opportunities and seeks to maintain an environment which encourages all its members to contribute fully and on an equal basis to both the work and

Manipur literally meaning "A land of jewel" nestle deep within a lush green corner of North East India. It seems much like an exquisite work of art executed by superb hands of Nature and is indeed a state of exquisite natural beauty and splendors, the beauty of which once inspired Mrs. St. Clair Grimwood described it as "A Pretty Place more beautiful than many show places of the world" Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru paid a fitting tribute by describing it as "Jewel of India".

The State has nine districts namely Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal-East, Imphal- West, Senapati, Tamenglong, Thoubal

and Ukhrul. Manipur, forms an important part of the northeastern region of India. With a rough rectangular shape, the State covers an area of 220,327 square km between Latitudes 230 32' N and 250 4I'N and Longitude 93 02' E and 940°47'E. The state is mainly linked with the rest of the country through the Imphal Dimapur Road (National Highway No.39) and the Imphal-Jiribam Road(National Highway No. 53). Thus, Manipur is a landlocked state. From the topographical point of view, the state has three physical units, viz., the Manipur Valley, the Manipur Hills, and the Jiribam Basin, each having its own geographical personality. The landscapes filled with brilliant greenery complemented with the crystal-like water, kayaks in the lakes, and waterfalls

in hills,seem to be a common sight in Manipur. The gifted land of Manipur also has a growing population of over 27 lakhs, residing in a vast area of about 22327 square kilometer. The population density of the state is very low, which makes it one of the least population density areas, in the north east corner of India, the population growth rate is less than 20%. The state also ranks first within the north eastern Indian states, when it comes to the sex ratio. It has a good gender proportion of above 900 females in 1000 males, according to the Manipur census 2011. Literacy has greatly increased in this state as compared to the previous census, with around 10% increment rate. It's noteworthy, that literacy in females has increased more than that in males. The ratio of urban to rural population is approximately 3:7 in Manipur, which is better in terms of urbanization as compared to the rest of north-eastern regions. Imphal is the largest city in the state, which is also its capital. The official language spoken here is Meiteilon. The culture of Manipur is enriched with so many facets,that it is difficult to discuss all of them at once. Churachandpur is the second largest city/ district of Manipur, which is located in the southern part of Manipur, distance of 60 km from the Impala City
